In 1986, he became the protegé of real estate expert Avery Carrington usually following him with a note pad and pen, including to one of Colonel Cortez' parties. He later meets Tommy Vercetti who Avery hired to start a gang war between the Haitians and the Cubans. Some point between 1986 and 1992 he moved to Liberty City making himself a successful business man, establishing his own business and purchased his own building within Liberty City.
